John Terry was credited with the winning goal that came in the third minute of added time and secured a 1-0 win for Jose Mourinho's team.

The Blues were cut to a best-price 6/4 generally for the league title after overcoming a credible opponent, while Arsenal and Manchester City also collected three points from easier assignments.

Arsenal are a point behind Chelsea in second after they beat Sunderland 4-1 at the Emirates thanks to goals from Olivier Giroud (2), Laurent Koscielny and Tomas Rosicky.

The Gunners are 15/2 for the Premier League with BetVictor and Paddy Power, despite remaining two points ahead of Manchester City in third.

City have a game in hand on the top two but they only scraped to a 1-0 victory at the Etihad, Yaya Toure's 70th minute strike ensuring the three points over Stoke.

Manuel Pellegrini's team remain favourites for the league, with Paddy Power offering 13/10 and BetVictor 5/4.

Liverpool are 9/1 ahead of their home match with Swansea on Sunday.

At the other end of the table, Cardiff were cut to 4/11 to go down by BetVictor following a 4-0 home defeat to Hull City.
