The Gunners saw goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny sent off in the first half after record-signing Mesut Ozil had missed an early penalty and although Bayern also failed to score from their resulting spot kick, two goals after the break from Toni Kroos and Thomas Muller sealed a priceless away victory.

Bayern are 1/50 to progress to the next round with the same two bookies while the holders are now no bigger than 2/1 with Betfred to retain their European crown. Arsenal are out to a best of 200/1 with bwin to lift the trophy.

In Wednesday night's other game, Atletico Madrid claimed a narrow 1-0 win at AC Milan thanks to a late Diego Costa header and they're now 12/1 with Paddy Power to become European champions. Sky Bet make the Spanish side 1/9 to progress to the next round, with AC Milan priced at 5/1.

On Tuesday night, Manchester City were pushed out to 100/1 at Paddy Power for the Champions League after a 2-0 loss at home to Barcelona.

A penalty from Lionel Messi and a late strike from Dani Alves gave the visitors the upper hand heading to the Nou Camp with Barca into 7/2 for the trophy with several bookies.

City are 20/1 at Coral to qualify with Barcelona 1/33 to complete the task in two weeks' time.

Paris St Germain were 4-0 winners at Bayer Leverkusen and the French outfit are now no bigger than 11/1 (888sport) in the outright market.
