Manuel Pellegrini's side went into the break 2-0 down and deservedly so, but a second-half hat-trick from Sergio Aguero saw them safely through to the fifth round.

BetVictor had pushed them out to 11/2 for FA Cup glory during the game but are one of several now offering 100/30, although Ladbrokes have them at 5/2.

"We came so close to a near perfect result," said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. "Not only were City the best backed side of the day, but they are also best backed to win this competition and while a Watford win would have been ideal, a draw was pretty good as well."

Those words reflect what was a bad day for the industry, with Sky Bet reporting that the 11 best-backed sides on the coupon all obliged for punters.

Liverpool started things with a 2-0 win at Bournemouth and they're now 5/1 generally, while Merseyside rivals Everton are 8/1 with Ladbrokes after a 4-0 victory at Stevenage.

Arsenal are 9/2 with BetVictor and Paddy Power following their straightforward success on Friday night, while Chelsea go into Sunday's clash with Stoke at the same price generally.

Ladbrokes make Southampton 16/1 chances after they beat Championship side Yeovil 2-0, while Swansea are 28/1 after coming from behind to beat Birmingham.
