Australia 5/6 for ODI whitewash

Australia swept England aside in the third one-day international at the Sydney Cricket Ground to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five game series and are now just 5/6 to follow up their 5-0 Ashes win with the same scoreline in the shorter form of the game.

England's total of 243 for nine never looked like being sufficient once David Warner hit the straps and the game looked in safe keeping by the time the big hitting left hander had departed for 71 from 70 deliveries.

There was to be no collapse to rescue England as Australia coasted home to win by seven wickets with a full 10 overs to spare.

The tourists' humiliation is not yet complete with two games in the 'dead' series still to go and the bookmakers don't believe that there's any light at the end of the tunnel for Alastair Cook's beleaguered men.

The 3-2 scoreline can be backed at 9/1 (from 4s) with Winner although there's some disagreement on the possibility of England gaining a 'consolation' win with 4-1 priced up between 11/10 and 6/4 (Winner and BetVictor).

The 5-0 series score was available at 6/4 before play begun but Ladbrokes 5/6 is now the best around about an unprecedented second whitewash with the majority of firms chalking up that eventuality at 8/11.
