Kenny De Schepper: Strong serve can take Berdych to a tie-break
Kenny De Schepper: Strong serve can take Berdych to a tie-break

Here are their thoughts ahead of Wednesday's play.

Andy Schooler,

Tomas Berdych v Kenny De Schepper to feature a tie-break at 7/4 (Ladbrokes)

Berdych is a hot favourite in this one and rightly so but he's never faced the Frenchman before so won't have had a good look at his strong serve. De Schepper's game is very much serve-orientated and his matches regularly feature tie-breaks. Of course, Berdych is no slouch in the serving department - more news for the bet - but the return is not his best facet. Big servers Ivo Karlovic, Milos Raonic, Feliciano Lopez and Nicolas Almagro are among a long list of players to have taken Berdych to a breaker since the US Open. After De Schepper banged down 19 aces in his opener in Melbourne (and played a tie-break), the 7/4 looks big to me.

Other possible bets:

Fabio Fognini to beat Jarkko Nieminen at 4/5 - Finn had a long day on Monday and you don't want to be fatigued at the start of a match when it's 42C.

Zheng Jie to beat Madison Keys at 9/4 - the young American could also be feeling the effects of a long first-round match and Zheng is no mug.

Kirsten Flipkens to beat Casey Dellacqua at 8/13 - Flipkens looks overpriced with price based too much on Dellacqua's win over Vera Zvonareva in round one.
