Maria Sharapova to win the 1st set 6-0 v Bethanie Mattek-Sands at 12/1 (Ladbrokes)
There's been a lot of talk about Mattek-Sands troubling a rusty Sharapova in this one but I wouldn't be surprised if the opposite unfolds. Sharapova has an impressive record against the American, leading the head-to-head 5-0 with four of those wins being real thumpings. Four of the 11 sets these two have played have ended 6-0 to Sharapova and another two 6-1. She looked decent enough in Brisbane recently, pushing Serena Williams in the semi-finals. Sharapova has also made fast starts in Melbourne in each of the last two years; on both occasions she won her opening set of the tournament 6-0. With Mattek-Sands revealing a lower back problem in Sydney, her serve might not be at its best. Sharapova has the tools to capitalise and, while this is a long shot, I feel it should be much shorter.
Barry Cowan, Sky Sports
After a decent accumulator win on Monday, Barry is looking to repeat the trick:
Nadal to beat Tomic 3-1 at 100/30
Monfils, Hewitt, Raonic, Dimitrov, Kyrgios, Del Potro, Kohlschreiber, Tsonga, Federer & Cilic all to win at 4/1
Jankovic, Petkovic, Halep, Cibulkova, Radwanska, Muguruza, Wozniacki, Stephens, Kuznetsova & Azarenka all to win at 6/1
Mattek Sands to beat Sharapova at 8/1
Murray to reach the last 16 withdout dropping a set at 11/4
