2.00 Lingfield - Olivers Mount
There was plenty to like about Olivers Mount's debut on the Lingfield polytrack two days ago and turned out quickly in division two of the coral.co.uk Handicap at the same track this afternoon, he rates a decent bet.
The furthest he's been is a mile and one and a half furlongs, twice at Wolverhampton, but those efforts have yielded a win and a third and he is bred to get the 10-furlong distance he races over today.
A good third off a strong pace over a mile here on Wednesday, he was staying on well in that race and was beaten just a head and a neck in the end, strongly hinting that he is capable of going in off his current mark of 53.
That was in an apprentice race and Jimmy Quinn, who has a third and a first from three rides on the horse, takes over in the saddle this afternoon.
Market rival Kindlelight Storm has obvious claims, but he may encounter the same traffic problems that scuppered him last time from box one, so it's Olivers Mount that makes more appeal.
