Our editor Dave Ord feels Scots Gaelic is of interest at Musselburgh this afternoon as he drops back to his optimum trip.

Scots Gaelic 2.20 Musselburgh

Dean Pratt has a fantastic record for John Quinn and the partnership look worth following again with Scots Gaelic in the Handicap Hurdle at Musselburgh.

The six-year-old found three miles too far for him on his last start but is of great interest back to this trip on a surface that will suit.

His reappearance effort at Aintree, finishing fourth behind Crowning Jewel, was an encouraging one and there's no doubt he's very feasibly handicapped on his form in Ireland when trained by Pat Flynn.

I'd be amazed if the excellent Quinn team can't get Scots Gaelic back on track sooner rather than later and this looks a very good opportunity for the process to begin.
