Dave Ord feels the time is right for Stagecoach Pearl to give Sue Smith another winner at her local track, Wetherby.

Stagecoach Pearl 1.40 Wetherby

Sue Smith likes a winner at Wetherby - well, she likes them anywhere but particularly at her local track - and she's quite good at it too.

Over the last five years only Donald McCain has tasted more success at the A1 Course and the Bingley handler can be on target this afternoon with Stagecoach Pearl in the Download The totepool App Handicap Chase.

He'll certainly outrun odds of 7/1 at a track where he performs well, his seasonal reappearance second showing the fire still burns in the belly.

Two subsequent defeats can be excused on the grounds of being in too deep the first time and a step up in trip on his latest start. This is a freewheeling two mile chaser who if he can get in a rhythm takes some passing.

Favourite Imjoeking clearly has bundles of potential but I won't be forming the orderly queue to back him on only his second start over fences in against some seasoned campaigners.

Tour d'Argent needs to brush up significantly in the fencing department, Claragh Native is up eight pounds for winning at Musselburgh last week and is better on quick ground and Rouge Et Blanc looks in the handicapper's grip.

In contrast Stagecoach Pearl is now 13 pounds below his last winning mark and two lower than when running so well here on his seasonal return.

Stablemate De Boitron is interesting on his first start for team Smith but we know a lot more about Stagecoach Pearl than him at the moment and with the pair trading at the same price, I know where I'll be siding.
