Chelsea were sunk by a late goal at Basle in the Champions League on Tuesday night but results elsewhere went their way and Jose Mourinho's side are into the last 16 of the competition.

It was far from convincing with one game left in Group E and they are 16/1 with BetVictor to lift the trophy next May.

That said, progress was enough for Ladbrokes to clip their price by a couple of points into 12/1.

Arsenal kept control of Group F with a 2-0 win over whipping boys Marseille and Coral have trimmed their odds from 18s into 16s and Sky Bet now go 14s from 16s.

Borussia Dortmund are movers in the outright betting in the same group after defeating Napoli 3-1.

The Germans are also into 16s from 18s at Coral after they drew level in the Group with Napoli and sit three points behind the Gunners.

Celtic's European dream is over though as they were eliminated from both the Champions and Europa Leagues after a 3-0 reverse at home to AC Milan.

That outcome coupled with Ajax stunning Barcelona 2-1 leaves the Bhoys rooted to the foot of Group H and unable to catch the Dutch outfit immediately above them.

Barcelona are general 9/2 chances while AC Milan can be backed at 66s with bet365.

Coral are offering 10/3 for an English side to go on and lift the trophy while William Hill go 4/6 that an English side makes it to the final.

"All four Premier League sides should be good enough to qualify through to the last 16 stage," said Coral spokesman Tim Reynolds.

"But with Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Real Madrid all looking very solid at the head of the outright betting, it's going to take a huge effort to see an English side lift the trophy."

It is 11/10 at Hills that the Premier League is not represented in the final.

"The Premier League teams are doing enough to get through but there is no obvious winner," added their spokesman Rupert Adams.
