Robin Van Persie's first-half goal was good enough to earn David Moyes' side all three points and he remains 5/1 to once again be the league's top goalscorer with Luis Suarez the 15/8 favourite.

BetVictor spokesman Jack Milner said: "United and Liverpool are today's big movers, both 8/1 for the title before this weekend's fixtures but both making inroads as Chelsea, City and Spurs all slipped up.

"Manchester United are 5/1, Liverpool 6/1 (from 8/1) as Manchester City are eased from 7/4 to 5/2."

The latter can be backed at a best price of 11/4 with a number of firms while Arsenal and Chelsea have both been on the drift to a general 7/2.

William Hill offer 3/1 (from 7/2) that the winner of the title this season achieves a record low of 74 points or fewer.

"We have seen a real topsy turvey weekend in the Premier League and we have seen that anyone truly can beat anyone else," said their spokesman Joe Crilly.

The same firm now make Manchester United 4/11 to finish in the Champions League qualification spots at the end of the campaign.
