DOUBLE: Elle Woods and Thouwra.
Elle Woods found the ground against her Ayr at last week but can make amends back on quicker ground in the Choose EBF Nominated Fillies' Handicap at Musselburgh on Sunday.
Michael Dods' charge has shown much of her best form on a sound surface, not least when winning twice at Carlisle in June and July.
She subsequently showed up well at Doncaster and was hardly disgraced when not beaten far in a blanket finish to an ultra-competitive event at York's Ebor meeting in Doncaster.
Elle Woods did not enjoy a clear run that day and many punters latched on to her potential last week only to find the ground turn a touch softer than ideal.
While she was not beaten far in fourth after making up ground in the finish, Elle Woods never really looked like winning but it was still yet another decent effort.
Turned out again quickly, Dods could have found an ideal opportunity.
Funding Deficit is the choice in the RSP Consulting Engineers Handicap.
He benefited from a drop back to five furlongs to shed his maiden tag at Beverley on his penultimate start but could not follow up when only third at Catterick despite going off as favourite.
He could not quite hold on after making all that day and given a break since that run in July, Funding Deficit is an intriguing contender stepped back up to seven furlongs.
As a son of Classic winner Cape Verdi, more was probably expected of Thouwra than he has actually achieved.
However, he has now found his level and can strike gold once again in the totequadpot Four Places In Four Races Handicap at Epsom.
The fact he only managed to break his maiden at the seventh attempt is fair indicator of his ability but he was nothing if not consistent before and subsequently managed a first handicap success when digging deep at Yarmouth.
Thouwra only won by a head but he appeared to idle in front and could be rated as good value for the official margin.
The handicapper has put him up 3lb for that win but despite his increased burden, Thouwra still holds excellent claims for the Godolphin team.
There is some good action on offer at the Curragh and My Titania can take the next step up the ladder in the C.L. Weld Park Stakes.
A daughter of Sea The Stars, she was narrowly beaten by a decent filly on her debut before stepping up to run out a convincing winner subsequently.
This Group Three contest is an excellent opportunity for John Oxx's filly to pick up some black type.
