Many had feared the worst for the Gunners as they headed to Istanbul to face Fenerbahce just days after suffering an opening-day Premier League defeat to Aston Villa.
However, Arsene Wenger's men responded well, winning 3-0 in Turkey thanks to goals from Kieran Gibbs, Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud.
