Charles Byrnes' star won the Liverpool Hurdle by three lengths from Holywell to continue an impressive season.
Solwhit was duly knocked into a best of 7/1 with Paddy Power and Boylesports to defend his title at Cheltenham next March.
However, race sponsors Ladbrokes make the horse their 4/1 co-favourite alongside four-time champion Big Buck's, currently out injured, and Friday's Aintree winner At Fishers Cross.
Several firms offer 4/1 Big Buck's who will not run until next year's World Hurdle, if indeed the four-time winner recovers from his current problem.
At Fishers Cross is a top price of 5/1 (Betfred, totesport, Boylesports).
Sky Bet's Michael Shinners, whose firm move their price in from 8/1 to 5s, said: "You can't help but be impressed with that performance.
"He looks like he is improving and next year's World Hurdle looks set to be a cracker, especially if Big Buck's comes back."
Boylesports' Leon Blanche echoed those sentiments, saying: "Solwhit is definitely back to his top-class form and looks a major contender to retain his World Hurdle crown next year."
Meanwhile, Overturn is out to 50/1 with Stan James for the 2014 Queen Mother Champion Chase after suffering defeat at Aintree.
Overturn was edged out by Special Tiara, who won the Maghull Novices' Chase at odds of 28/1.
Baily Green was pulled up in the race and is subsequently out to 33s (bet365, Stan James) for next year's race at the Cheltenham Festival.
The winner did not receive Champion Chase quotes.
