England remain odds-on to top World Cup European Qualifying Group H after playing out a 1-1 draw in Montenegro.

Roy Hodgson's side led after just six minutes thanks to Wayne Rooney's strike but Dejan Damjanovic levelled matters with less than a quarter of an hour to go to ensure his side remained two points clear in the standings.

As a consequence, England are 4/9 to win the group with bet365 but as short as 1/3 with BetVictor, the latter having cut them to 1/33 at one stage during the game.

Montenegro, who have to travel to Wembley later in the campaign, can be backed at 4/1 with Boylesports, while Ukraine are 10s with BetVictor and Coral after their victory over Moldova.

Poland remained level on points with Ukraine with a straightforward success over San Marino, and they're 16/1 to pass the three teams ahead of them and top the standings.

William Hill go 11/4 that England win all of their remaining qualification fixtures and 1/14 that they reach Brazil 2014.

"Ideally England would have liked to have won the match but a draw keeps them very much in the driving seat," said the firm's spokesman Joe Crilly.

Coral meanwhile rate England 2/5 chances to remain unbeaten throughout the rest of the campaign, while it's 1/2 that they win the group with Montenegro second.

"Three of England's remaining four matches in qualifying are at home so we still expect Roy Hodgson's men to qualify as winners of Group H, but England will most probably have to win all four matches to automatically qualify through to the World Cup finals in Brazil," said Coral's Tim Reynolds.

Elsewhere, Spain reached a milestone in recording their 50th consecutive qualification game without defeat with a 1-0 win in France, and BetVictor cut them to 5/1 for the World Cup as a consequence.

Germany were also cut to 7/1 from 8s after a 4-1 victory over Kazakhstan, but England's performance saw them pushed out to 22/1, a price which puts them sixth in the market.
