Adam Kirby: Rides Elusive Hawk

Elusive Hawk: 3.10 Lingfield

With snow lying thick on the ground, opportunities are rather thin on the ground with just the seven race card at not-so-leafy Lingfield keeping the show on the road; at least there will be no such problems with Dubai World Cup Night at Meydan on Saturday.

Among the seven races, there are three field sizes of six, six, eight, six and five and odds-on favourites. Elusive Hawk is still odds against and the former Barney Curley-trained runner still appeals at his price of 6/4.

Fitted with a visor for his latest start, he ran out an easy five length

winner of a Kempton handicap and makes a quick reappearance under a penalty at Lingfield.

Neither the extra weight nor the extra distance should be beyond him and, although there's more to quibble with the trip given that all of his wins have been over six.

There's also no reason to believe that he won't prove effective at this track where he's rather surprisingly making a belated debut and Elusive Hawk can complete a quickfire double.
