As ever Saturday's Betfred Midlands National at Uttoxeter is going to be a real slog over four miles and a furlong.

Last year's winner Master Overseer goes again but he's well up in the weights this time and is a horse who needs to dominate in his races and is likely to be taken on up front by Carruthers.

He's another horse who's been in great form this season but I do think both of these will be anchored by their big weights.

Silver By Nature is a stout stayer but didn't show much last time and Welsh National winner Monbeg Dude is due to run in the Cheltenhham Gold Cup so is unlikely to line up.

The horse I like is Bradley, trained by Fergal O'Brien. He's run some good races this season and notably when second to Monbeg Dude at Cheltenham.

He's an out-and-out stayer and while he didn't fire on his last run, with unusual generosity the handicapper dropped him five pounds for a rare off day.

His other form stacks up well, he looks made for the race and can go very well off just 10st 7lb.
