Rock On Ruby is no bigger than 7/1 to win the Champion Hurdle after he landed the 32Red Listed Hurdle at Doncaster.

Rock On Ruby has been cut to defend his crown

The race was marred by a fatal fall for Nicky Henderson's Darlan, who had looked poised to win under AP McCoy before crashing out at the final flight.

Hurricane Fly is now shorter than 2/1 for the first time this season with most firms quoting 7/4, while Grandouet and Zarkandar can be backed at 6/1.

Cinders And Ashes is alongside Binocular at a general 16/1, ahead of Countrywide Flame who finished second at Doncaster having set out to make all the running.

Sky Bet and Stan James both trimmed Oscar Whisky to 12/1 although he's available at 25s elsewhere, alongside Alan King's Grumeti and just behind 20/1 chance Cotton Mill who is due to reappear in this weekend's Betfair Hurdle.

Earlier on the card, Henderson saddled a double courtesy of Utopie Des Bordes and Minella Forfitness and both were cut for their potential Cheltenham assignments.

The former has entries in all three novice hurdles and is 25/1 for both the Albert Bartlett and the Neptune, and 33/1 for the Supreme.

Minella Fortfitness is now a general 33/1 chance for the latter although Stan James quote 50/1.
