"We were very taken with the performance of On His Own this afternoon. His victory has sent a shot across the bows of his Grand National rivals and he looks the one to beat at this stage," said Betfred spokesman Andrew Griffiths.
Earlier on the card, Chicago Grey sprung a surprise in the Red Mills Steeplechase, winning at odds of 25/1. He is also entered at Aintree and has been cut to 20/1 (from 33/1) with Betfred.
Sky Bet cut Chicago Grey to as short as 16/1 from 25s for the National.
BetVictor make On His Own 8/1 from 11s (NRFB) and 9/1 in the win only market and their spokesperson Charlie McCann said: "We have seen two cracking performances from Chicago Grey and now On His Own for the big one in Ireland today and we make the latter our 8/1 favourite after showing his well-being when landing the Grade 2 Boyne Hurdle; we now make an Irish winner of the race 11/10 and they currently have four of the first five in the betting!"
