JOHNSON GRABS FOURTH WORLD TITLE
By David Martin, PA International
Allen Johnson brilliantly clinched his fourth World Championship 110 metres
hurdles title in Paris.
Defending the gold medal he won in Edmonton two years ago, the American
cruised over the 10 hurdles, winning in a time of 13.12 seconds.
The former Olympic champion and fastest man in the world this year, who had
only been beaten once this summer, finished well clear of runner-up Terrence
Trammell.
Trammell, Johnson's Team USA colleague and a former world indoor 60m champion,
clocked a season's best of 13.20secs. Third place went to China's Liu Xiang, the
20-year-old world junior record holder finishing in 13.23secs.
