GOLD FOR GIBILISCO

Italy's Guiseppe Gibilisco took the gold medal in the pole vault at the World Championships Paris on Thursday.

The 24-year-old actually failed with two attempts with the bar at only 5.75m only to save his third and last attempt for when the bar was raised to 5.80m which he cleared with ease.

He then successfully cleared 5.85m and 5.90m to see off South Africa's Okkert Brits who had to settle for silver.
