Rashid Ramzi completed the middle-distance double at the World Championships on Sunday by adding the 800m title to his 1,500m crown.
The Moroccan-born athlete, now representing Bahrain, edged out Olympic champion Yuriy Borzakovskiy who sat too far back and had too much distance to make up in the final 200m.
Unlike in Athens last year, the Russian was not up to the challenge as Ramzi crossed the line in 1min 44.24 seconds, a new personal best.
Kenya's William Yiampoy took the bronze medal.
Ramzi is the first man to win the middle-distance double in the championships' history.
