Britain's Lorraine Shaw continued her good form this season to finish sixth in the hammer with a throw of 65.89m.

It was an improvement on the Olympics for Shaw, as she finished ninth in Sydney. The event was won by Yipsi Moreno of Cuba, who threw 70.65m.
