Garcia (left) - may just edge out Johnson.
HUTCHINGS ON THE MEN'S 110m HURDLES
By Tim Hutchings
In the 100m hurdles, it's Allen Johnson against Garcia and Johnson the world No1 and former Olympic champion and has four out of the six best times this year.
But he is not invincible and Anier Garcia is very consistent and the Cuban has run 13.18 this season and has four of the eight best times this year.
Johnson and Garcia are outstanding favourites and the third place athlete should be a long way behind.
Who will finish third? Terrence Trammell has run 13.24 his other American team-mate Larry Wade 13.25 but there's a host who could finish third but the battle for gold is between Johnson and Garcia racing in the absence of reigning champion Colin Jackson and if I had to put money on it, I'd go for Garcia. He's young, fast and Johnson is getting on a bit.
