Malcolm - a sneaking chance for a medal (Allsport)
HUTCHINGS ON THE 200m
In the 200m, there is no strong favourite.
Michael Johnson, the record holder with that fabulous world record of 19.32 secs from Atlanta five years ago, will not be in Edmonton and the race is wide open.
It makes Ramon Clay the world No1 this year the slight favourite.
But also look out for Konstadinos Kederis of Greece who has only run once or twice this year and has really protected himself but his 20.1 at Athens this year is an indication of his ability.
Others to look out for are Bernard Williams, who has run 20.1, Shawn Crawford, who won in Osaka and Kevin Little, that's the US trio and there's also Chris Williams of Jamaica.
But nobody has run below 20 seconds this season and that's what makes it difficult to rank the event.
"I believe two of Britain's three will make the final.
Chambers, Marlon Devenish and Christian Malcolm is a tremendously strong unit even without the likes of European champion Dougie Walker and Olympic silver medallist Darren Campbell.
Chambers recently ran 20.31 at Crystal Palace from the difficult lane eight and he is the late uptaker of the third place in the team.
I think he will make the final and cause a big surprise in Edmonton, perhaps the same as Campbell did at Sydney.
It's a difficult one to rank this and I would go for Clay, Kenteris and Chambers for the medals.
