Malcolm - European Indoor champion (Allsport).
CHRISTIAN MALCOLM
(100m/200m/4x100m)
A former world junior 200m champion, Welshman Malcolm is slowly beginning to
realise the huge potential he showed before joining the ranks of senior.
His other career highs include winning the silver medal in Kuala Lumpur at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in a Welsh record time, European Indoor gold in 2000 and World Indoor silver earlier this season.
As he showed at last year's Olympics where he finished fifth, the 22-year-old is capable of making the final and with a 100m personal best of
10.12 he has the raw speed to make an impact at his favoured 200m distance.
Malcolm is a floater, rather than a powerhouse, but he has the talent to take
the world by storm - if not in Edmonton, then perhaps, like colleague Mark Lewis-Francis at
Athens in 2004.
