Briton Andy Turner claimed a bronze medal in the men's 110m hurdles at the European Championships.
Turner was out of the medal positions for most of the race, but pipped Russia's Igor Peremota after storming off the final hurdle.
Latvia's Stanislav Olijar took the title in 13.24secs, well ahead of Thomas Blaschek who finished in 13.46.
Turner, adding to his Commonwealth bronze placing, posted a time of 13.52 - 0.03 ahead of his Russian foe.
"I'm chuffed to get a medal but the race could have been better as I hit some hurdles,'' said Turner.
He added: "My semi was definitely better than the final. I was so nervous, I got out well and it was the key to my success.''
The 25-year-old, who has a two-year-old daughter, revealed: "Before the final my girlfriend sent me a text message from home.
"She said my daughter was wearing my bronze medal from the Commonwealths and saying 'daddy, I want another medal' - so I was under strict orders.''
Olijar was the first new winner of the title for 16 years, Jackson having won the last four gold medals at the championships.
