Kim Geveart completed a wonderful evening for Belgium by winning gold in the 200 metres.
Moments earlier Tia Hellebaut claimed an unlikely gold for her country in the high jump and she was there to meet her teammate cross the line to spark joyous scenes of celebration.
Geveart looked in great shape as she glided round the bend and after finding an extra gear down the home straight Belgian sprinter left the rest of the field trailing in her wake to take victory with a time of 22.68 seconds.
Russia's Yuliya Gushchina, who shared the lead at the halfway stage before being blown away, took silver in 22.93secs while her compatriot Natalya Rusakova came in third.
The victory meant Gevaert was the first woman since Irina Privalova in 1994 to claim the European sprint double having taken 100m glory on Wednesday.
